Once back in windows do the sfc command and let it do its thing. It will perform the check, then the results are usually in the event viewer after it boots into Windows. The chkdsk will likely prompt you if you want to do it the next time the computer reboots. Run these on a command line, they're my go-tos: chkdsk /r It's very unlikely to be your CPU overheating if you got a bluescreen (usually it would just shut off), but it could be the GPU. Any temp in the high 70s or beyond is a clue that overheating could be coming into play. Boot up some games and play them with GPU-Z on another monitor so you can watch.
In the sensors tab, the important ones to look at will be the CPU and GPU temps. The next thing I'd look at is temperature, because it's also something non-invasive and relatively quick that you can do.
I recently had a bad stick of RAM giving me BSoDs that would pass the simple tests but failed an extended test. It will take a long time, especially if you have a lot of memory, but it's worth it to rule it out. Once there, press F1 to go to options and change the test mode to extended. If you want to rule out the memory, do a memory diagnostic. I recently ran the gamut of issues with my new PC, so here's my two cents. Did the BSoD have an error code? Does it differ each time, or is it the same? This sounds like it could pretty much be any type of hardware issue. Thanks for your patience everyone and I appreciate. I really like doing video game commentary, so this kind of blows, but I'll be back as soon as I can be. I may need some more time to figure this out, and there's a chance my videos will be put on hold for a bit if this is as serious a problem as I think it is.
The major crashes seem to happen mostly during subnautica, but things were fine for two weeks and it appears to happen randomly when playing a game that utilizes the GPU.

In any case, I know this isn't the full scope of all the information, but I'm wondering if anyone had similar problems. I don't know how long the grace period of my computer booting properly will last, but I'm hoping this is a solvable problem. Event Viewer had nothing of worth either.Īt this point I'm leaning towards some kind of hardware error, best case scenario: Ram, worst case would be my GPU. It was as if Magic Johnson had entered my computer it made no sense as we made no meaningful progress before that. It was even listing the drive as RAW instead of NTFS.Īfter seemingly running out of Safe options, I ended up restarting the computer one more time, mainly out of sheer frustration, and then. Even so, I couldn't access system repair booting from a USB, and even with the help of someone very knowledgeable, it seemed like the drive was inaccessible. Luckily I had backed up everything, including an image of my C drive. I tried several times to get back in, but it appeared my boot drive was corrupted. After that, restarts would only lead to the Bios configuration. I was recording more Subnautica Below Zero gameplay, when I heard a beep, and then got a blue screen of death. I thought I was out of the woods, but it turns out I got lost in the Pine Barrens.
